TELLING THE TIME

Nurses often use the time to check the medical record of the patient, administer medication and visitors schedule.

We can use some questions to ask about time:

• What time is it?
• What's the time?
• Could you tell me?, Please
• Have you got the right time?

To answer a question, we use four ways: 

O'CLOCK : Utilizado para hablar de horas exactas, en punto. ------> 12:00 

QUARTER PAST: Utilizado para hablar sobre cuarto de hora ------>12:15

HALF PAST: Utilizado para media hora ---------------------------->12:30

QUARTER TO: Literalmente menos un cuarto de hora -------------->12:45

EXAMPLES:

a)What time is it? -------------> 5:15

It's quarter past five

b) What's the time? ------------> 8:00

It's eight o'clock

• We use IN with parts of the day and longer periods of time

 here some examples:

• STETHOSCOPE : a medical instrument for listening the action of someone's heart or breathing.
• TOURNIQUET : a device for stopping the flow of blood through a vein or artery.

Here is a list of some of the most common supplies found in doctor's offices, operating rooms, and medical kits. Read the next exercise and try to complete.

VERBO TO BE

Enfrentarnos a un nuevo reto como lo es aprender otro idioma, en ocasiones puede llegar a complicarnos demasiado, todo aquel que conozca un poco del idioma ingles debe conocer o haber escuchado hablar de que es el VERBO TO BE, conocer, comprender y dominar este verbo es quizás la base de un buen aprendizaje del idioma.

Verbo "To be" tiene una especial relevancia para muchas personas, en ocasiones se ha llegado a decir que es la base del idioma ingles, todo aquel que no termina de comprender difícilmente avanza a otros niveles. El VERBO TO BE, corresponde a los verbos "SER" o "ESTAR" en español, te preguntaras como saber cuando se utiliza cual?, esto depende del sentido de la frase de ahi se debe deducir el significado correcto, quizas en un principio lo consideres un poco dificil, tu panorama se aclarara conforme lo utilices. Lo mas comun es encontrarlo de las siguientes formas (AM/IS/ARE).

DATOS IMPORTANTES

• Sabemos....... VERBO TO BE = VERBO SER o ESTAR
• Los podemos utilizar en frases, oraciones, preguntas y encontrarlo en cualquier tipo de lecturas.
• Es el unico en ingles que tiene 3 conjungaciones en el presente simple ( AM / IS / ARE )
• En un principio el Verbo To be, va apoyado de un pronombre personal

Es de suma importancia que comprendas correctamente la  tabla de conjugacion VERBO TO BE + PRONOMBRE PERSONAL, a un constado de cada uno se encuentra la correcta pronunciacion.

Tambien existen formas mas cortas de utilizar el verbo To be, las cuales tienen el mismo significado, solo varia su forma de escribirlas;

She´s [Shis]
It´s [Its]
We´re [guiir]
They´re [deir]


EJEMPLOS VERBO TO BE, DENTRO DE ORACIONES:

I am a nurse  = Yo soy enfermera
She is student = Ella es estudiante
They´re are surgeons = Ellos son cirujanos
